Harriet Tubman Named U.S. General

Harriet Tubman was given a noble honor on Veteran’s Day and was named an official US General for her outstanding works during the Civil War and her pivotal role in abolishing slavery in the United States of America. Her estate accepted the honor at a special ceremony held by Governor Wes Moore.

Harriet Tubman was born into slavery and fought for her own freedom, helped establish the intricate Underground Railroad, rescued dozens of slaves and ushered them to freedom and even fought in the Civil War as a General to help ultimately get the Emancipation Proclamation signed, freeing every slave in America. Wow!

Now thanks to the wise Governor Wes Moore Harriet Tubman is receiving much deserved recognition for her role in American history. Harriet Tubman has numerous schools named after her and is featured on American coins. Harriet Tubman should be forever celebrated as a true American hero.
